Gardening
The gardening program runs through the growing season from April to September, with registered participants meeting every Thursday (weather permitting) at Russell's Reach Farm (8120 Sidbury Road, Wilmington). The group has a raised bed garden growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers and learns about planting, composting, and caring for a garden, while enjoying one another's company on a working horse farm that also has other friendly animals.
Movie Night
Movie Night is the second Tuesday of every month, showing a favorite movie selected by our Special Advisory Board and suggested by attendees. The movie is projected on a large screen at The First Baptist Church Activity Center (1939 Independence Boulevard, Wilmington) with free refreshments.
Game Night
Game Night is the fourth Tuesday of every month and includes a variety of games at the First Baptist Church Activity Center (1939 Independence Boulevard, Wilmington) including pool, ping-pong, foosball, air hockey, and arcade games. Other activities are varied each month, including karaoke, trivia games, table games, and more. Refreshments provided.
Special Events
Special Events are usually held during the one "off" week and vary in time and location. Recent events have included Line Dancing, Arts and Crafts, a DJ Dance Party and a Picnic in the Park.
Parent Connect Meetings
Parent Connect meets the first Tuesday of every month at the Northeast Library from 5-6:30. Family members of people with intellectual and neurodevelopmental disabilities meet in person (and virtually) to discuss areas of mutual concern and to learn together. Speakers are often arranged to discuss certain topics in depth.
